After 3.25 fabulous years at our Downtown Oakland location, we are making some big changes in 2016. At the end of this month, we are moving into the Port Workspaces at the Kaiser Center Mall. This means we are getting out of the coworking business, and focusing more on our community and coaching offering.
In the last few months, The Port has been building out a beautiful, humongous space in the Kaiser Mall. It includes three stories of desks, offices, conference rooms, lounges, a bar, a coworking kitchen – and a growing membership base of entrepreneurs and creative people. Several of Tech Liminal’s coworking members have already transitioned over, so when you come to visit there will be familiar, friendly faces.
Our new address is 344 Thomas L Berkley Way (344 20th St), Oakland, CA 94612.
Transitioning WordPress Support Groups
The WordPress Support Group on March 30 will be our first event at the Port. There are some new logistics, so head on over to the event to learn about them.
We are rolling out a new registration and RSVP system for meetups to supplement meetup.com, and allow members to use our site more frequently to engage with us. Since access to the Port will be more restricted than at our Clay Street location, all support group attendees will be encouraged to register in advance for each meeting. Advanced registration will continue to be $15, while drop-ins will be $20.
The WordPress support Group will not meet on Friday, April 1. No foolin’!
Updated Membership Plans
We offer two forms of monthly membership subscriptions, managed through our website.
- Supporting Member – $25/month. This membership helps us keep the lights on and the website up, and is the minimum required membership if you want to organize events and meetups through Tech Liminal at the Port. You get access to our online resources, as well as a listing in our online members directory. Learn More.
- Support Group Subscrption – $50/month. This grants you access to all of the support groups we run.
All current subscribers will continue at their current pricing level until they cancel or suspend their PayPal subscription. After that, you will have to purchase the appropriate subscription at the new price.
Hurrah: STEAM Camp for Middle School Girls is next week
Next week is Spring Break for many East Bay Schools, so we are wrapping up our tenure at 12th and Clay with the third annual STEAM Camp for Middle School Girls.
