WordPress Support Group

When: Most Fridays – Check the Calendar

12:30-2:00PM

Cost: $10

This support group encourages beginners and intermediate WordPress users and developers.  We probably won’t get into the nitty-gritty of the code, but we may do things like upload files to your server.

We’ll answer questions from participants, and try to work through issues together – this is how everyone learns.

Bring your lunch to this drop-in event.   RSVP if you’d like by leaving a comment below.

I’m stumped on two things (maybe more!):
1) how to set up google analytics — or figure out if I have it
2) add post photo to email notifications

hope someone can help solve these conundrums! Thanks.

Hi There, I am having trouble uploading my WP site. DO you think this is something that could be solved during that session?

Cheers

Good meeting today, I got my questions answered, learned more about WordPress from Anca and the group and a nice bunch of people.

Great Session! We helped Lisa make a child theme, and looked under the hood of a bunch of different problems.

See you next week!

Anca.

Can’t make it to today’s wp/css session :-( but wondering what best tool is to edit css in wp, in particular, to be able to highlight area of wp page, such as header text, body text, padding areas, banner size, etc. Also, wondering if I need to create a child theme to do so to protect theme from being overwritten when wp is updated?

I use a text editor (BBEdit on the mac) to access my files directly through FTP for most day-to-day edits. You can hook up Dreamweaver if you want as well.
Also it would help to become familiar with some type of web inspector tool, such as Firebug, or those built into Safari, Chrome, and IE.
